Here at Cornelscourt Glass we have been fitting cat flaps and dog flaps into glass for over 10 years and we are constantly striving to bring our customers the newest and best products available. Cornelscourt Glass are now a one stop shop offering our customers a full pet flap service. We now offer a range of cat flaps and dog flaps that in our experience have proved the best and most effective for use in glass. We have also included a handy price guide that will make it easy for you to choose a flap that fits both your needs and budget.

 

How to get a guide price for the cost of installing a flap in your home

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. Below is the guide price of a half glazed door or a full glazed door. This is the average cost of a new glass panel.
                  2. Then choose the type of flap you require. Or alternatively supply your own flap for us to fit into the panel.
                  3. Add the 2 together and that gives you a general cost of getting a flap installed in your home.

For example a new glass for a half glazed door(€395) and a catmate standard cat flap(€50) bringing the total cost to €445.

Please note

We can only install pet flaps into the glass or panel section of the door or window. It is not possible or advisable to cut into the frame of the door or window. We must leave a minimum of 50mm below the flap so we do not comprimise the strength of the glass. This is the lowest that we can install them meaning for some older or less agile pets an additional step may need to be added making it possible for them to easily use the flap.

The steps involve in having a cat or dog flap installed in your home

1. We will make an appointment to come to your home and measure the pane of glass or pvc panel you wish to have the flap installed in. This can be in a door or a window wherever is the most suitable for you and you pet. Our trained fitters can advise you where might work best but the decision is ultimately yours
2. You will need to decide which flap is the most suitable for you and your pets needs. Again our trained fitters can offer their experience in helping you choose the correct flap. Micro chips flaps are available for cats and small dogs. We do not offer micro chip flaps for medium or large dogs as we have not found any on the market that are in any way cost effective.
3. We manufacture a brand new pane of glass to the existing specifications of your existing unit so if its single, double or triple glazed, standard or an energy rated unit we can match that exactly. The only difference is the new unit will have a specially cut and sealed hole to accommodate the new flap.
4. We will then come back out to your house to swap the old glass for the new one with the flap. A lot of the time we are able to remove the old glass without damaging it so it is always and option for you to hang onto the glass in case you ever need to swap it back, for example if it is a rented property.
